About This Blog
Welcome to my New Year’s Resolution for 2009!
For the next five months, I will be embarking on (and documenting along the way) a 13.1-mile journey to the Orange County Half Marathon. Training begins January 1, 2009 with race day on May 3, 2009 at 6:30 a.m.
I began running recreationally in 2005 after discovering that the “Freshman 15″ (or in my case, the Freshman 12.5) in college was no myth. I loved food too much (and still do). I fell victim to and mastered the art of the all-you-can-eat buffet. So, I decided to train for a 5K and was instantly hooked. Since then, I’ve run in 5-milers, 10Ks, a Half Marathon, and a full Marathon, but never properly documented the experience save for the memories in my head and pictures from race day. Thus, this blog was born!
Each day I train, I’ll document the number of miles run, my speed, and total miles covered (up to that day), along with any thoughts or observations I make during my run. I’ll also fit in some running gear thoughts as well.
So far, my goals are two-fold: 1.) survive, and 2.) beat my previous half marathon time (1 hour, 59 minutes, and 24 seconds). Here goes nothing.
